  • Pittsburgh Born, Pittsburgh Bred, a fun, full-color look at the most memorable Pittsburghers from the past 250 years. From George Westinghouse to Christina Aguilera and August Wilson to Nellie Bly, Pittsburgh Born, Pittsburgh Bred includes personal profiles and full-color photos of 500 local residents who have shaped our region and world.


  • Soul Soldiers: African Americans & The Vietnam Era, a 240-page companion to the History Center’s travelling exhibition, edited by curator Samuel W. Black, looks at African American life through the eyes of veterans by bringing together essays, poetry, oral histories, and riveting recollections that recall the horrors of war, the complexities of race, and the duality of African American life.


  • Clash of Empires: The British, French, & Indian War, 1754-1763, a color-illustrated guide to the History Center exhibit written by curator Scott Stephenson, includes rare French & Indian War artifacts along with maps and paintings that Stephenson unearthed during his research.
